Home 5 News 5 Alternative water Installation training for qualified plumbers in Cape Town

20 May 2019

Cape Town has experienced a multi-year drought, and many residents and businesses have started using alternative water sources. The significant increase in installation of alternative water systems needs to be managed and regulated, as there are potentially serious health and environmental risks, including contamination of drinking water supply.

The City of Cape Town produced guidelines to assist with safe and legal installation and use of alternative water which includes: greywater, rainwater, groundwater (boreholes, well points, basement water and springs), and surface water from streams/rivers.

GreenCape, in partnership with the City of Cape Town, cordially invites qualified plumbers to attend a full day training session on the necessary knowledge to comply with the legislation and guidelines for alternative water installations.

Attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance, which has value for marketing a plumber’s services. This training session can accommodate 150 plumbers, on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis.
