Home 5 News 5 Atlantis skills audit report released.

29 August 2019

GreenCape recently commissioned a skills audit report to identify and understand the skills gaps in Atlantis and to prioritise possible solutions for these gaps. The study, supported by the City of Cape Town, seeks to identify priority areas towards which skills development funding and targeted interventions can be directed.

This is necessary to support the continued development of Atlantis, a community within the greater Cape Town jurisdiction. The area is earmarked for increased investment and growth opportunities through the recently established Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for green technologies manufacturing. Ensuring the availability of qualified skills in the area is crucial for the community to benefit from increased job opportunities and for investors to be met with the required labour locally.

The skills audit report was completed by AltGen, with support from LJ Roman Consultancy, an Atlantis service provider, and sheds light onto the systemic gaps within the skills ecosystem in Atlantis. It also offers suggestions to develop an improved environment, which can contribute to sustainable job creation.  See the report here for more insights.
