THE ANNUAL EE FORUM AWARDS - NOMINATIONS CLOSING 13 SEPTEMBER 2016

Cape Town Energy Efficiency Forum Awards 2016 now open.

Has your business implemented successful energy efficiency interventions in your building/s or operations? Nominations are now invited for the Energy Efficiency Forum Awards 2016, and the deadline for submission is 13 September 2016. This annual Award recognises leadership and encourages businesses to continue reducing their energy consumption. Applications are judged on their energy management systems and significant energy efficiency interventions - including both technological improvements and behaviour change - which have resulted in substantial and sustainable reductions in energy consumption. Three award categories cover retrofits of existing small and large buildings/ operations and new build (any size). The winners will be recognised at an awards ceremony on 16 November 2016.

Invitation to Energy Efficiency Forum for Cape Town’s Commercial Sector on 25 August 2016

At this next meeting, Ackermans and Clicks will share their retail case studies, with results and lessons. A new rebate from Eskom, and support programme from the National Cleaner Production Centre will feature. GreenCape will present on trends in innovative financing, solar PV and energy service companies (ESCos), and there will be an informal ‘marketplace’ with ESCOs which provide energy management help and funding options. The City will introduce their Resource Efficiency Criteria for Development and speak about energy storage. Updates will also be given by GBCSA and Western Cape Province. Attendance is free. TWO RETAIL ENERGY EFFICIENCY CASE STUDIES 
Ackermans and Clicks will share their significant energy saving initiatives, results and lessons.
 
GREENCAPE UPDATE ON ENERGY SERVICE COMPANIES (ESCOS), INNOVATIVE FINANCING AND THE PV TREND
Jack Radmore will provide this update on topical sustainable energy trends.
 
RESOURCE EFFICIENCY CRITERIA FOR DEVELOPMENT
Sarah Rushmere will introduce the City’s new reference guide to policy, legal directives and guidelines related to sustainability in the built environment.

STATUS OF ENERGY STORAGE TECHNOLOGY

Brian Jones from the City of Cape Town will outline energy storage technologies and current trends.


MARKETPLACE OF ENERGY SERVICE COMPANIES
A low-key marketplace of reputable Energy Servicing Companies (ESCOs) operating in Cape Town will happen during tea break and at lunch time.
