Become a DiBiCoo Biogas Demo Project!
May 10, 2020
The Digital global Biogas Cooperation (DiBiCoo) is an international project supported by the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Commission and implemented by GIZ in cooperation with 12 experienced organizations across four continents. The overall objective is to establish closer cooperation between European technology suppliers and biogas stakeholders in the partner countries Argentina, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia, and South Africa. The activities focus on capacity building, favourable framework conditions for cooperation in the biogas sector and the development of promising biogas projects to support energy security, local added value, job creation and the share of renewable energy at local level while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
In each partner country, DiBiCoo supports the development of local biogas demo projects up to investment stage. The focus is on high impact projects using mainly organic waste. This may include residues and wastes from agriculture, landscaping, sewage management, livestock keeping as well as waste streams from food, feed and beverage processing. The potential of waste conversion to biogas and further on renewable energy production is enormous.
A DiBiCoo biogas demo project will get expert support in developing an economic, social and environmental feasible and ready to invest biogas project. Furthermore, we provide technical support, tools and trainings to meet operational and organisational requirements of the biogas business and the opportunity to get in contact with key stakeholder from technology supply, project development and the financing sector.
