MCEP was initially devised as an instrument to support companies by encouraging investments, competitiveness and retaining employments in the production sector. The programme consists of two components that will be of interest to GreenCape’s manufacturing members. The Production Incentive, administered by IDAD, is for green technology and resource efficiency product manufacturers. It provides support through a cost-sharing grant of between 30 percent and 50 percent of investment. The Industrial Financing loan facility, administered by the IDC, offers manufacturers finance at a preferential interest rate.
