Randers was speaking at a forum organised by the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership South African office in Cape Town on his forecasts for the next 40 years of human civilisation. It’s not too late to avert a climate crisis but “pervasive human short-termism” makes it highly unlikely that society will do so in the next 40 years.
