Job Description

The Programme Manager will be responsible for managing GreenCape’s Water and Agriculture programme, extending and driving its strategy and funding. The Programme Manager will play a pro-active role in local, regional, national and international green economy networks to drive pragmatic and impact-oriented interventions, to enable the economic benefits and shifts to more circular economies.

The core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Programme strategy development and implementation;
  • Funder- and funding opportunity identification; proposal development;
  • Funder liaison at programme and project level;
  • Programme budgeting and spend management (budget planning and spend decision making);
  • Line management of programme staff (staff wellbeing, load management, performance management and support for career development);
  • Project management of delivery (meeting deliverables and targets);
  • Project design and technical quality assurance of deliverables;
  • Delivery of project deliverables (technical inputs);
  • Project reporting, impact monitoring and associated record keeping;
  • Programme and project knowledge management;
  • Staff allocation and staff recruitment to meet project delivery needs and longer term programme development.

Contract Length

The position is full-time, subject to GreenCape’s standard contracting conditions. Contract renewal will depend on performance and the business requirements of the organisation at the time. There will be a three-month probation period for this position.

Remuneration will be market-related, with the recognition that GreenCape is a not-for-profit organisation. Medical aid is offered as an employee benefit (subject to some conditions).
