On May 30th GreenCape launched it’s Annual Report for the 2016/17 financial year – the first of it’s kind for the organisation. The launch, a special event hosted at the GreenCape offices, also marked the official launch of the 2017 Market Intelligence Reports (MIRs).
Over 100 people attended the event which included (but wasn’t limited to) representatives from provincial government, the City of Cape Town, the Dutch and Swiss Embassys and the business sector.
Attendees heard presentations from MEC Alan Winde, the WWF, the CoCT and Mike Mulcahy, GreenCape CEO.
At the launch, Minister for Economic Opportunities, Alan Winde, thanked GreenCape for the role the organisation has played in making the Western Cape the green economic hub of Africa. Lance Greyling, Director of Trade and Investment at the City of Cape Town, had a similar message of thanks and highlighted the growing recognition of the organisation from Mayor Patricia de Lille and Western Cape Premier Helen Zille.

There were also presentations from GreenCape CEO Mike Mulcahy and the Head of the Policy and Futures Unit at WWF, Saliem Fakir. After the presentations the attendees enjoyed an opportunity to network over drinks and canapes.
