The National Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) issued the Section 28 Call for Industry Waste Management Plans on 6th December 2017. In response, Packaging South Africa has drafted a consolidated multi-stream Industry Waste Management Plan for the paper and packaging sector based on the Extended Producer Responsibility Model. The Packaging SA EPR Plan will be submitted to the DEA by 05 September 2018.
Representation by all stakeholders, members and non-members is integral to the transparency and participative nature of such a process. JG Afrika are inviting interested parties to submit written representations or objections within the 30-day consultation period culminating on 20 August 2018.
