#Windaba2019 with InvestCPT and the Atlantis Special Economic Zone

21 October 2019

On the 8th and 9th of October 2019, GreenCape attended the annual Windaba conference and exhibition at the CTICC. As one of the exhibitors of the event, we shared the space with Invest Cape Town and the Atlantis Special Economic Zone for Green Technologies, and many other industry key players.

“The Windaba Conference and Exhibition is an annual event for anyone who forms part of the Wind Energy value chain, and GreenCape is a part of that eco-system. It is a chance for us to gain valuable insights into the local wind energy market and stay updated on what other stakeholders and industry players are doing and thinking,” says GreenCape’s Renewable Energy and Utility Analyst, Mandisa Mkhize. “Windaba allows us the chance to understand how stakeholders perceive us and to introduce ourselves to those that haven’t heard of us,” Mandisa adds.

After the two days of an exciting exhibition by the GreenCape team, Mandisa had this to say about the main insights that were gained from engaging with stakeholders: “There’s great anticipation for the release of the IRP report, and although delays in its release has caused some uncertainty and discouragement among many investors, there seems to be some optimism on what it will mean for the future of South Africa’s wind energy market once that happens.”

Here is some more feedback from the event by our partners, released by  the City’s Mayoral Committee Member For Economic Opportunities And Asset Management, Alderman James Vos: City partners with GreenCape and Atlantis SEZ to promote Cape Town and green tech investment and manufacturing hub
